The Story of Elysium Meadery

My mead journey began in a Virginia beer bar, where the artistry of brewing sparked a passion within me. Life's twists led me to Arizona, where I met Christina. A shared adventure revealed a mutual disappointment with commercially available meads – they were too sweet. Under a canopy of desert stars, we envisioned a different mead: dry, complex, and inspired by Christina's Greek heritage and the myths of Olympus. Arizona's abundant local honey became the heart of our creation. Elysium Meadery was born, crafting mythological meads that honor ancient traditions while appealing to the modern palate. Our meads, fermented to dryness, capture the essence of the gods, from the brooding intensity of the Hades Braggot to the refreshing notes of the Persephone Metheglin. Mead, an ancient drink with a rich history, is our chosen medium. From its prehistoric origins to its revered place in Norse and Greek mythology, mead connects us to the past. Our exploration of myth extends beyond the Olympian twelve, seeking inspiration from figures like Hecate and Selene. Elysium, our name, evokes a mythical paradise and reflects our dedication to crafting exceptional meads. Our logo, a bee within a shield, symbolizes our love story – a Bumble match! – and the honey that fuels our passion. It's a tribute to our journey, etched into every bottle.
